The website and the wiki are open

hallowmyr.com now carries the news, the patch notes and a player wiki: classes and abilities, creatures, items, crafting, quests and the lands, rebuilt from the game itself. New here? Start with Getting started.

The open playtest

Play free at play.hallowmyr.com or with the Windows launcher. Your account and characters carry over. Updates install themselves: you see a 60-second countdown, then you are logged straight back in.

See who's on the road

The Who's online page lists everyone playing right now, live from the server. Rather not be listed? Esc > Settings > Gameplay > Show me on the website.

Join the Discord

The Hallowmyr Discord is the place to find a party, report a bug and talk to the Game Masters.

On the road ahead

More ways to change how your character looks will come later, and the last few things still drawn with older art are getting art of their own.

Smoother high-detail art

High-detail art now loads in the background and warms up the area around you, so walking into a new place no longer stutters.

Map markers and your home on the map

Badges on the minimap and the Map mark inns, shops, trainers, the bank, Waystones, coach stops, dungeon entrances and more. Hover for a name; on the Map, filter what shows. Your home and inn room are marked too, also on the World map.

New looks for Greenhollow's people

Mairéad, Bard Niall, Fíona, Caoimhe, Daire, Seoras, Eilidh, Bríd and Lugh now each have art of their own.

Return Home

Once you own a home, press Shift+H (or use the button in your Home window) to go straight inside it. It has its own cooldown, so your Hearth (H) stays ready.

Game Master badges

Game Masters now carry a gold GM badge by their name: in chat, the Who list, Inspect, parties, letters and on the website.

Pets

Little companions that follow you about, belong to your whole account and come indoors with you. Find them at Tomás the Ostler in Greenhollow and along the road. You can also pet the village cats and dogs.

High-detail art option

Esc > Settings > Display > Art detail switches between the classic pixel art and High detail: the same art, drawn smooth and finer.

Homes grow up

• Residences and Houses get an upper floor, garden plots and a storage chest.
• Log out at home or at an inn to build up rested XP.
• House-warmings, guestbooks, a monthly best-home vote, regional furniture sets and boss trophies.

Fixes

• Release now wakes you at the nearest sanctuary of the land you fell in.
• Changing your Hearth asks first.
• You can delete a character from character select; a Game Master can restore it.

Every settlement governs itself

• Dunhallow is run by its Corporation: Aldermen, a Lord Mayor, the City Watch and a Recorder.
• Ardcarrow, Inishcorr, Kelp Strand and Stiltwick each have a town or village government. Hold citizenship in several places, but stand for office only at home.
• Magistrates can call a jury for a trial.

Mount slot and rebindable keys

• Mounts are worn in their own slot. Click one in your Satchel to equip it, and press Z to call it.
• Esc > Settings > Controls rebinds every action, with up to two keys each. Your bindings follow your account.

Master modifiers for every class

At Master rank, each active ability opens two options, A or B. Pick one on the ability's card, out of combat, for free. Warriors choose between the Bulwark tank and the Reaver.

Ask a Game Master

Type /helpme or use Esc > Ask a Game Master to open a ticket. Replies arrive by in-game letter.

Market boards, trading and fishing

• Market boards in Greenhollow and Dunhallow: search every listing, post buy orders and commissions. Payouts come by letter.
• Trade face to face: drag an item onto another player. Inspect players, set a bio and a looking-for-group status.
• Fishing: right-click water, press Space to reel. Rippling spots bite better.

A livelier world

World events now break out in the open, ensembles can play music together, and you can ride a pony. The events board lists what's happening.
